Scott Dacey Outraises Walter Jones – a Clear Sign of Voter Disapproval of Jones

Craven County Commissioner Scott Dacey announced today that he raised more than double what opponent, 24-year incumbent Congressman Walter Jones, raised this quarter – demonstrating that voters are simply tired of Jones’ anti-Trump, politics-as-usual voting history.

Dacey reported raising $96,609 from 121 donors this past quarter. Furthermore, $53,481 of Dacey’s fundraising came from within the district – whereas only $8,275 of Walter Jones’ fundraising came from within the district – with Jones’ remaining funds originating from Washington D.C. lobbyists, PACs, or other money from outside the district. This is a clear sign that voters are tired of Jones’ ineffectiveness and are seeking a representative who will stand with President Trump, rather than against him.

“Our donors all agree that Walter Jones is simply out of touch with our district – and that’s why they have contributed to our campaign. I am thankful for their support.” Scott Dacey said about the fundraising.

Scott Dacey is running for Congress because he believes the 3rd District of North Carolina needs someone who will commit to supporting President Trump’s agenda, rather than blocking the President. Far surpassing Jones in campaign fundraising, it is clear that Dacey is best positioned to support the President’s agenda in Washington. Dacey closed the year having well over twice as much cash on hand as did Jones, $224,127 to $100,267, allowing him to bring forward his message to the public.

Dacey supports common-sense conservative values, including Obamacare repeal, tax reform, and support of our military troops. During his time as a county commissioner, Dacey has worked tirelessly to support conservative policy initiatives and is ready to push for bold reforms to benefit the military and those who call eastern North Carolina home. The people of the 3rd District are ready for change and Dacey’s growing support shows that.
