Meet Scott Dacey

Scott currently serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Craven County Board of Commissioners, having been elected to the board in 2010 and reelected in 2014. While serving as a commissioner, he has focused his attention toward making county government more transparent to the taxpayer and is constantly working toward reducing the size of government. He has also been working to make certain eastern North Carolina's number one source of jobs - Marine Air Station Cherry Point and the Fleet Readiness Center East - remain vibrant sources of employment for years to come.

Scott's Early Life

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1986 with B.A in Political Science, Scott began working in the Wisconsin State Legislature and worked on a series of political campaigns throughout the state.  In 1989, he moved to Washington, DC to serve in the administration of President George H.W. Bush.  In the aftermath of the attacks on America in 2001, Scott's growing family moved to eastern North Carolina.  While Scott still maintains an active government relations practice in the nation's capital, he also co-owns a real estate development company in Craven County.

Scott and Jennifer have two children, Drew and Jack. The family lives in Trent Woods and attends Garber United Methodist Church.
